Will the power plant in Ostrołęka be expanded?

The energy sector is one of those sectors where politics and the interests of privileged groups are mixed up, and there is often a lack of space for common sense and economy. The situation at the same time looks similar to the extension of the Ostrołęka power plant planned for years. Time will tell what her fate will ultimately be.

Below we present opinions on this subject prof. Jan Popczyk and dr inż. Wojciech Myślecki. Both of them are quite critical of the legitimacy of this investment.

The planned construction of the Ostrołęka C power plant is not justified and does not bring benefits – says prof. Jan Popczyk from the Silesian University of Technology.

The construction of a new 1000 MW block at the Ostrołęka power plant is not economically viable and unjustified from the point of view of the power system – says in an interview with PAP an energy expert dr inż. Wojciech Myślecki.
