MPs give green light to renewable energy, but the law may be late

The Parliamentary Committee on Energy and the Treasury adopted on Thursday, July 18 at first reading, a draft amendment to the Act on renewable energy sources, which aims to conduct RES auctions this year. – This regulation may be late – alarm representatives of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) and opposition deputies.


Goal: achieving 15% the share of energy from renewable energy until 2020

– The main goal of this project is to implement additional actions aimed at achieving the 15% target. the share of energy from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption until 2020. The means to achieve this goal will be primarily auctions conducted on the basis of transitional provisions of this project – said Deputy Minister of Energy Tomasz Dąbrowski, presenting the project.

He noted that the “immediate” adoption of the law is a prerequisite for the announcement by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office of this year’s auctions that are to allow the implementation of investments enabling Poland to achieve the EU target in the field of renewable energy production.
